Cannon auto repair

Do you know what needs to be included in basic auto service? If you’re not sure, ask the experts at your auto shop to explain what type of service is needed on your vehicle and when it should be done. This is the key to preventing major auto repair!

Here are some things that are included in basic auto service:

  • Oil – Keep up with regular oil changes at the right mileage interval and don’t forget to change the filter;
  • Brakes – Ask for frequent inspections of the brakes so that worn-out brake pads, rotors, and calipers can be replaced as necessary;
  • Lights – Have burned out or broken lightbulbs replaced as soon as possible and make sure the headlight lenses are clear and clean;
  • Battery – Inspect the battery to make sure it is receiving and holding a charge. Clean the battery terminals of corrosion, top-off the water in the terminals, and make sure the battery box is secure. A battery more than four years old may need to be replaced.
  • Windshield – Replace a cracked windshield before it could possibly shatter. Have small chips repaired before they turn into large cracks;
  • Wipers – Windshield wipers should be replaced about every 6 to 12 months.
  • Tires – Check the air pressure in all the tires frequently, measure the tread depth, keep the tires rotated (about every six months), and check the alignment and balance;
  • Leaks – Have the radiator and transmission inspected periodically for cracks and leaks. Every couple of years dirty fluid should be flushed from the system.

The mission of your auto shop is to help you take care of your vehicle. A diagnostic test can detect any hidden problems so the right auto repair can be taken care of before it turns into a major problem. Your auto shop can also track the auto service and repairs performed on your vehicle which is helpful for insurance or resale purposes.
